Hungry?

Hey Beauties,

This post isn't going to be about beauty itself, although it is kind of related. It is about our bodies and how we take care of them. I don't eat the best, I am a clutz so I don't go for runs in the winter, cause I know that I WILL fall on my butt at least once. I have been trying to control what I eat, how much I eat, when I eat, all of those aspects. I make a delicious chicken enchilada..my entire house loves it. Only issue; its so fattening...but so addicting! anyways..
I watch daily vlogs on YouTube, the vlogs I watch the most are ShayCarl, Shaytards, CarlieStyles & HeyKayli. ShayCarl has lots so much weight in the past year and it was all by eating healthier and getting fit. He is my inspiration to get healthy! He ran in a couple of marathons and was only a few minutes away from qualifying for the Boston Marathon. 2 years ago I didn't think I'd ever see Shay run a mile nevermind 26!! So I'm watching his vlog last night, and he starts talking about this documentary called Hungry for Change.. in the back of my mind I'm thinking "obviously were hungry for change, we always are..but what kind of change are we hungry for?" (my stomach is rumbling as I write to you lol)
In this documentary they go into detail about what food companies aren't disclosing to their consumers. There is a lot of things hiding. Blueberry muffins have the same chemical that RV's have to keep their lines defrosted in the winter, disgusted eh?
Then they start talking about aspartame and items that have aspartame in it...I was so upset to see that Iced Tea was on that list...I love Iced Tea. Not no more though! I opted for water today when I could have gotten an Iced Tea(woo! change!!)
I'm not big on added sugar, so I wasn't that concerned when they got to the white sugar portion. They kept comparing it to Cocaine. Your body becomes addicted to sugar, and after you have your first bite of food with sugar in it, you body asks for more and more. What do you do to control that addiction? Do you quit cold turkey, eat very little food since there is sugar in almost everything? Do you slowly taper it, in hopes of eventually quitting all together. Its like smoking, or drinking... you become addicted to it, whether it be addicted to having something in your hand... or addicted to the feeling you get after drinking..
I don't have an answer for that, although the route I wanna take is to taper it off..faster that slowly, but slower than cold turkey... How do I do that? Well I'm obviously going to start reading labels better..not only for their Nutrition Facts, but also for their ingredients.

I vow to you ladies, gentlemen, children, adults..whoever may be reading this right now, to pay more attention to what I'm putting in my body. I promise to become more active. I vow to put that chocolate bar back and grab an apple, or orange.
I'm on the road to healthy...how about you? :)
Lets help eachother out. See a good recipe that is healthy and delicious? Share with me! I will post it for everyone else to see and obviously give you credit, especially if I love it. (Pinterest is an amazing source for that kind of stuff. I spend hours on it every night)

xo, shi
