Hey Beauties,
I've been MIA for a few days. I apologize. I went away last weekend, and I've been busy with cleaning and getting some walks in with my dog while it was nice...that didn't last long. I woke up this morning to -29 degrees Celsius, and snow. I was out walking Bella yesterday in a light sweater and capris, with absolutely no snow. Mother nature is confused and needs to go back to bed.
Anyways, I figured I'd let you all into my life a little more and share Bella with you. She is my best friend and I don't know what I would do without her.
Bella is 5 years old and is an australian shepherd. She is one of the smartest dogs I have ever met(and no I'm not being bias) She cuddles with me every night. She has her own pillow and blanket(yes she is very spoiled) She often seems to think that she needs to sleep on my side of the bed on my pillow, under my blanket... not happening dog! lol
I got another dog right before her named Abby. I rescued Abby from our local animal shelter. She was a rottweiler. So adorable, fluffy and small. She hated going for walks and would chew up her leash. I had her for 6 days, and on about the 3rd day I noticed that she had no energy and was getting sick. She was puking and couldn't keep food up...I called the shelter and they had told me that they had a parvo outbreak and all the puppies had to be euthanized. I was distraught. She was MY first pet, and I loved her already. So I took her into the vet that the shelter told me to go to, and they took her blood and came back and said the count was very low and the virus took over and there wasn't much hope in saving Abby. I didn't wanna put her through pain so I decided to euthanize her(keep in mind, I'm like 15 and this is my first pet). The fees were covered by the shelter and I was so upset. I found an ad with these super adorable puppies and I begged my mom. We did a major clean and the owner brought her into my city for me. As soon as I met Bella I knew she was mine. I was torn between like 5 names but as soon as I got her into my arms I knew she was a Bella. She instantly weasled her way into my jacket and fell asleep. She slept like this all the way home, which was about a 15 minute drive. We get home and she got along great with my moms dog. I was ecstatic!
Bella has been by my side ever since. If I'm gone for a weekend she doesn't sleep and doesn't eat. She cries when I come home and we have to cuddle before she stops. Shes the best friend I could ask for!
She is getting older and I notice that her joints are starting to bother her, and her lungs aren't as strong as they were before. She used to be good to go to run our entire walk, now we have to take breaks and that breaks my heart. But she is still as energetic as the day I got her, which is great! She just gets tired faster.
Let me know if you have any pets, and send me pictures! I LOVE seeing other peoples animals, big or small. Not just dogs, got a lizard? A horse? Anything! Send them to me. :)
xo, shi
